From the students of the 9th grade Maria Kon. and Maria K.
Today we participated together with all the children of our class and the 8th grade in an online meeting with students, in the project eTwinning "Let's fight for a better world!". The meeting was attended by schools from Romania, Croatia, Croatia, Turkey, Moldova and Greece. It was an exciting and unique experience - for all of us in the third grade.
At first we all gathered together in one classroom and the schools started to "enter" the digital room one by one. We noticed with great curiosity the children from the other schools, the teachers, their classes.
At 11:00 the meeting started and the founder of the project Ms. Lacramiora Fira greeted us in English (a chance to practice it already) and explained what was to come. The Romanian school showed us a wonderful presentation on women's rights, where we were concerned that in many countries women are still struggling to gain basic human freedoms. Their rights are not respected.
Then students from different schools took the floor and expressed their views on the position of women in our times, mentioning the assets and obstacles they face.
The question followed: "Do you think that women's rights are fully respected in your country?" where we were asked to answer - we students - using our mobile phones (I really liked that!)
At the end we were asked to describe what we think a "female heroine" (a She + HERO i.e. SHERO) should be like and to write down our thoughts about our mother.
It was a great experience because we got to hear the views of children from other countries and I would love to do it again!
